Solarwinds Attack, Online Grooming, and “Traffic School” on AM1280 The Patriot with Brad Carlson, Sunday, July 16, 2023

Three years later, consequences from the Solarwinds attack are still unfolding. It seems the US Securities and Exchange Commission sent the Solarwinds CFO and CISO a Wells Notice, which means the SEC is considering legal action against them, personally. The Solarwinds attack is a tale of missed opportunities because the right people took too long to talk to each other. Wired Magazine published a great article about what happened. And that goes back to embracing open and my six-word-rhyme, “care and share to be prepared.” One day, we’ll wake up. But probably not today.

Online grooming also exploits vulnerabilities, but these are psychological. If I were a trafficker, here’s how I would groom somebody. But it’s not always about sex. Somebody tried to groom me in 2019 but it was about money and I didn’t realize it really was grooming until recently.
