Founded in 2004, Fishing for Life marks twenty years of serving youth, families, veterans & communities through fishing and outdoor programs. Holes 4 Heroes is an annual ice fishing tournament that especially serves US military families. But a record-warm Minnesota winter season forced us to cancel this year.
Medicine Lake finally froze in mid January. When we did our site survey with Nextera Telecom on January 23, the ice was about nine inches thick. But unheard-of 50+ degree temperatures over the next two weeks ruined the ice, especially near the shore, and doomed the 2024 event.
