For more phishing samples, see my phishy email collection.

This one came in from a Contact form on my website. It threatens retaliation unless I get rid of all the writer’s alleged copyrighted images. The creative twist is, it comes with a link to a download that shows me the images I supposedly stole.

Turns out, that something is a .zip file, no doubt filled with malicious software. It’s a well-known attack vector with a new twist. Full disclosure – I do sometimes grab images and use them in blog posts. As I’m sure lots of other bloggers do. I have a hunch variants of this show up on lots of website Contact forms.

Don’t fall for it. Do respect peoples’ hard work making their images.
