On Sunday, November 16, 2025, I delivered "If I were an online predator: the creepiest presentation I've ever done" to an audience of around 100 students and parents at TEDx Factoria 2025 in Bellevue, WA. This was a first-time TEDx event organized by a middle school. Partway through my talk, I mentioned that I'd brought copies of my books and that they were in the back of the room — a self-promotion mistake I assumed would be edited out before publishing. It wasn't, and TED declined the talk; only 2 of the 6 presentations that day were published. A fellow presenter recorded my presentation on my phone.
